COVID-19 CORONAVIRUS

Our updated local response information to the ongoing worldwide crisis.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brew Bus Tours is not offering tours until at least June 2020 for the safety of our guests, staff, and community.

Based on Federal guidance and State of Maine mandates, the breweries, wineries, and distilleries that are visited on our tours have temporarily closed access to any guests.

Maine’s Governor Janet Mills on April 28, 2020, presented her Administration’s plan to gradually and safely restart Maine’s economy. The plan establishes four gradual stages of reopening. The stages focus on the ability of a business to operate or an activity to occur in a manner that protects public health and safety.

Although tour companies, breweries, wineries, or distilleries are not specifically mentioned in the initial order, it is clear that the intent is to prevent the spread of the virus by keeping larger public-facing companies closed.

It is expected that the earliest that breweries, wineries, and distilleries might be able to open – if they satisfy all requirements for health and safety of their establishments – is in conjunction with Stage 2 on June 1, 2020.

In addition, the Governor also extended the State’s stay-at-home order in the form of a new “Stay Safer at Home” Executive Order. The new Order continues to have Maine people stay at home with limited exceptions for already permitted activities, such as grocery shopping or exercising. However, the new Stay Safer at Home Order will also allow Maine people to visit businesses or participate in activities that are deemed safe to open under Stage 1 of the reopening plan. The Order will extend through May 31, 2020, but is subject to change.

These understandable actions continue to enforce that at this time we cannot offer the quality small-group behind-the-scenes experience that we are well known for.

At this time, we are expecting to resume operations with a limited schedule beginning no earlier than Monday, June 1, 2020. This is dependent upon many governmental factors that are well out of our control but is our best estimate at this time.

Scheduled public tours and private tours to be conducted after that date currently remain available for booking.

These times will make it extremely difficult for independent businesses to succeed. We highly encourage all of our fans and supporters to continue to support their local businesses of all types. If you intentionally purchase items from a local company you are clearly helping to keep the spending in your community. This has never been more important.

Stay safe, take care of each other, and continue to Drink Local.
