Maybe you want to start a little early or maybe you are gathering some friends or workmates together to celebrate. Our Thirsty Thursday Tour will fit the bill. Hop on the Bus and we will bring you to 3 breweries to get a behind the scenes look and taste the beers that are helping Portland become one of the premier Beer Destinations.

Our First Stop Foundation is an artisanal brewery. Foundation Brewing Company exists because they are passionate about brewing and sharing great beer with others. they focus on creating world-class beers that use classic styles as the inspiration for brewing exciting beers that push conventional boundaries. They opened their doors in 2014 and were founded by avid homebrewers Joel Mahaffey and John Bonney. They have expanded their production space that doubled their size, and their new comfortable tasting room is where we will start our visit.

Next up is Bunker Brewing Co. Originally based in a tiny, brick-walled former scrapyard building in East Bayside, Bunker Brewing Company has moved to a much larger former warehouse on the West side of town. Their creative brewers make a rotating assortment of ales and lagers, making this the perfect stop during which to ask the question, “What’s the difference between an ale and a lager?” Enjoy their spacious tasting room and outside patio while pondering that important question over a well-crafted Bunker beer.

Last we head to South Portland’s first brewery operation in over a decade. Fore River Brewing Company opened in early 2016. John and TJ – two friends and avid homebrewers – teamed up with Alex the property owner (who had just sold his landscaping business) to open the brewery. They worked for months to hand craft and perfect their beers and the beautiful tasting room, which has both classic and modern barn elements in the design. A newer outside beer garden for the warmer months sits outside this brewery that is just across the river from Portland.

Once we’ve finished the tour, we’ll drop you back off at Old Port Spirits, where you can purchase some beer for later and is an excellent location to continue your exploration of lively downtown Portland.

Please note that tour venues and schedules may change due to production demands of our partners.
