Currently, breweries, wineries, and distilleries in Maine are not allowed to welcome guests inside their facilities. As a result, we have not resumed full bus-based tour operations but we have created limited availabilities for a variety of open-air tours and experiences.

Join us for a unique, all-inclusive experience showcasing Maine’s booming craft alcohol scene. We offer regularly scheduled and private tours in Greater Portland and Southern Maine on bright green school buses that provide a behind-the-scenes look at Maine’s craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, and more.

New England’s Original Brew Bus was established in Portland, Maine in 2012, and since then has welcomed over 30,000 guests aboard to explore our local alcohol producers. In 2013 we became the #1 TripAdvisor Tour and Activity in Portland.

Tours are led by knowledgeable guides in addition to a dedicated non-drinking driver to ensure the best possible experience for participating guests as well as for the businesses with which we partner. All tours feature a local snack or meal, trivia, behind-the-scenes experiences, and of course delicious beer and beverages!

As of June 30, 2019, we have donated $3,848 to Feed Kids!

The Maine Brew Bus joins other Maine businesses in a new marketing initiative benefitting the work of Full Plates Full Potential – a Maine-based non-profit organization whose mission is to end child hunger in all sixteen counties.

Great Fun! February 2020

The Maine Brew Bus is definitely a "not to disappoint" adventure!!! We did the Saturday Brunch Tour. Had a fun time and loved experiencing 3 different craft breweries. The staff at all the breweries were welcoming and each had it's own story to tell, sharing their defeats, victories, lessons in beer making and their future goals! Our guides, Victoria and Ryan, were the best, knowledgeable, fun and engaging! Thank you. We'll be back to experience some of your other tours!

AmazIng tour! December 2019

Tom and Seth were the best Guides and so much fun. The tour of the brewing process was very technical, informative and on point. Being in the brewing industry myself, I 100% approve. Great time- thanks everyone! I’ll be coming back for sure

Great repeat trip, even while pregnant! December 2019

My husband and I recently went on our second brew bus tour to do the Malts & Mariners package (GREAT seats!). The itinerary was great- we didn’t repeat any of the stops we had previously done, and two of the stops hadn’t even been open one year - they really keep up with what’s new. I was pregnant on this trip, and had a blast regardless - I even got a mocktail at Three of Strong. The behind-the-scenes info is even more exciting than the drinks. We were on the tour with a man who had gone 5 times - this is definitely a fun date night to do over and over again!

Saturday Sampler August 2019

Went on the Saturday Sampler Tour 5:45-8:30 pm on 8/24/19 and had a great time! Very informative on the bus and at each of the 3 brewery's we visited. We tried 4 beers per stop, but if you asked to try another type they will oblige. Was not a fan of craft beer before this but definitely I am now. They give you a spinach pie to eat which everyone seemed to enjoy. Highly recommend doing this while in Portland, ME.

Great time! December 2019

My husband & I had a wonderful time on the Casco Fiasco tour with "Major Tom" and Ryan as guide & driver. The entire operation, start to finish, was friendly, professional, and loads of fun. Lunch at Sebago was fantastic (as was the beer & Chad, the guide/bartender there), the time spent at Lone Pine was pure entertainment (love, love, love Molly!), and the introduction to sour beer at Yes Brewing was truly one of a kind. Would highly recommend the Maine Brew Bus to anyone looking for a fun & informative outing.

Northern Exposure October 2019

Our First tour - the Northern Exposure - gave us a great sample of 3 breweries without the hassle of driving (thank u Ryan). Our tour guide Nathan educated us on, not just the history of beer in Maine, but also helped guide us towards our favorite beers (Stouts) and to new brews we might not have been able to try elsewhere. Thanks guys - great time...we'll be back!
